Their website bills restaurant quality food in the comfort of your own home. It could say car, park, boat anywhere. Located near the shores of Deep Creek Lake in The Fort. Deep Creek Lake Gourmet To Go is open everyday except Sunday from 10:00 Am until 6:00 Pm. Sharing space with Deep Creek Sweets in an unremarkable building I am happy to give some love to this take out place to eat at Deep Creek Lake.
Cleanliness is not a problem. Service is picking up your order after a phone call. So pleasant it is making me begin to love the elimination of the server. A variable that so often can turn a dining experience into a nightmare regardless of food quality. The greatest thing in my opinion is every time that lunch was ordered, we only asked for soup, salad or sandwich. Sometimes we got something out of the box in our box. Sometimes it was a classic. Made with fresh ingredients the reason things become classic is that they are just good.
Soups have been rich and flavorful although occasionally heavy handed on salt. salads crisp, varied and not overly dressed. A nice mix of sandwich ingredients allows you to custom create. It is hard not to be tempted by the display cases of chocolates and pastries. I was glad I had my camera to capture this doughnut. I am sure it was great in taste but something about it made me feel queasy in the appearance.
Cost? Expect to pay what you would for an obese sized, distasteful, food abomination combination from a chain “food” processing plant. The results are far superior. There are some tables inside and out for those not quite on the go.
Deep Creek Lake Gourmet To Go offers complete dinner entrees as well. To date these have not been tested but I have some confidence that they to would be equally satisfying. Although it is more of a carry out than a restaurant.
