In all fairness I went in to these reviews with a blank slate it did not take long to remember why I have not eaten at McDonalds in many years. When looking for places to eat at Deep Creek Lake and the surrounding area eventually one will see the golden arches. For a county this size the density of this institution is thankfully sparse. Three locations manufacture pabulum in Garrett County. Oakland, Deep Creek Lake and Keysers Ridge. Each unremarkable from their outside appearance. It is once you open the doors that the adventure begins.
In general the restrooms were useable. but the mix of tile, metal, and poly plastics throughout the entire place do nothing to make one feel like this is a place for casual dining. Maybe this is not the place for casual dining, often it is referred to as ‘Fast Food’. I think that would be a fine description if either the service was fast or the product was food. This is a franchise so no local specials or fresh ingredients. Product is milled and processed at a mega lab and trucked to locations. I think one of the strongest points about successful restaurants is having the food be the same as the last time you ordered it. McD’s spends a fortune on product placement and advertising promoting their fresh foods. Below is what we thought we were ordering and what we got.
I can not comment on the actual taste of the food as I will not eat this junk. There are plenty of alternatives to eating at a corporate food machine. The service was slow, the tired food, tiring and the atmosphere not hospitable. The air conditioning is free and cold. Open late with even lower standards, there has to be a better way to eat than this.

Overall Experience: BAD
