Work hard and play harder has always been my motto. Mechanically I admit I know very little about cars, but I sure love to drive them. I started running in demolition derbies when I was 15 years old. I loved it. As I began to grow a little long in the tooth I noticed that they were beginning to leave me a little sore. It also was taking an awful lot of time preparing a car for a few minutes of fun. Larry won the Feature at the Garrett County Fair in 2007. Not to be outdone I followed up with my first feature win in 2008. It was decided to retire as champions. I did sneak two more derbies in and won the heats and still have an itch for “one last go round”.

Giving up the derby cars it was not long before the itch to drive on the edge returned.

It was not long until I bit the bullet and started to play in the dirt with a 4 cylinder race car. The first season was a whirlwind of excitement and frustration. The highlight coming with a third place finish in the Western Md Nationals. Mom and Dad attended races and Ledos Pizza of Deep Creek Lake as well as Byco Enterprises of Bittinger helped out alot. The second season started with a bang a new car and a bigger bang when the motor blew in the first race.

The Beast Thankfully the hook was set and everyone wanted to continue racing. It was time to take it to the next level and we purchased a hobby stock. This season has had a steep learning curve with a few bumps along the way, and one roll over. But we keep digging and throwing dirt. Stay tuned as more will be revealed.
